Drivers don’t need an excuse to pay less attention, they’re already not paying nearly as much attention as the situation really demands. Removing safety features isn’t going to change that, it’s just going to increase the punishment for their lack of attention. Which, as we know, is a punishment shared by others in the car and on and near the road.
