I don’t know, I imagine a lot of people are living at home or in college and able to put the “real world” on hold for a few years. But you can’t do that for very long.

Additionally, there’s only so much you can learn on your own. Whether it’s in school or through private study, you’re never going to learn what you will on the job. So you might spend 20 years studying and practicing and developing your skills; but if you haven’t done that as part of a team, working for customers, meeting deadlines, learning from peers and seniors; then you’re still a junior.
