While not entirely untrue, I find that rather dismissive, tbh, and frankly grandiose. I don’t use electron, or even much of the web stack, professionally; I’ve used it for hobby projects and will likely continue to do so for some things. Having to answer to people who may have less technical experience is only one of many factors that go into pragmatic decisions about how to implement a solution. Having the fortitude, or whatever other resources, necessary to stand up is rarely the issue; a good engineer rarely has so few things that weigh into a decision on tech choices for there to be a clear cut unambiguously best choice. Your points are well founded and they’re points that our web team are now discussing to good effect. But it’s overly simplistic to suggest that people only use the web stack for apps because they’re either ignorant or afraid of professional repercussions.
